In Spring 2006, Researchity acquired case files from the
Halsted N. Gray-Carew & English funeral
home (mortuary) in San Francisco, California, for their company and their
acquired companies.
Researchity received case files and indexes for the approximate
dates below. The San Francisco Public Library, History Center has received those files that exist before
these (excluding those indicated by an " * "). Halsted N. Gray retains the files for Halsted (from 1975 to present), and N. Gray & Company (from 1980 to present).
The files acquired by Researchity are currently being digitized and
will hopefully be made free sometime in the future. Some files may be temporarily unavailable until the digitization process is complete for them.

The information available in case files vary from one time period to the next, and between the various companies. But, they usually include a minimum of the individual's name, death and burial dates, and who placed the order. Some files include significantly more information about the individual, their parents, a copy of the obituary that was placed, etc. Please note that we can't guarantee you will receive any more information than you previously knew.
ORDERING FILES
(1) If you are interested in acquiring a copy of the case file for a certain
individual, please fill out the order form below. We will search our indexes (see above)
free-of-charge first before you make any payment.
Please note you must provide a death or burial date. Orders will NOT be processed
without one. If you don't know it, you can find it in the California Death Index.
sfgenealogy.com
has links to various websites that have it on the internet.
If we find an index entry for your individual's name and date
of death, you may request us to retrieve their case file for a research fee of
$20. We will provide you a copy of that file.
(2) For those case files without indexes, we will search those companies
for one individual with a pre-paid research fee of $20. But, we can't guarantee it will exist. Note: newspaper death notices and death certificates will occasionally mention which mortuary was used.
Warning: We can't guarantee that the individual
we find in our indexes is the individual you are trying to find!
